Delta Air Lines Sued After Vendor Employee Allegedly Steals Child’s iPad, Uploads Explicit Videos to Family’s Cloud Account

A South Carolina family has filed a federal lawsuit against Delta Air Lines, alleging that a vendor employee stole their child’s iPad left behind on a Delta flight and used it to record explicit videos, which were later discovered through the family’s iCloud account.
According to the lawsuit, filed on July 16, 2025, in US District Court in Charleston, Tory and Brooke Brewer accuse Delta of negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and harassment, among other claims. The incident allegedly began during a family trip on July 19, 2023, when the Brewers flew from Charleston to London via New York’s JFK Airport.
The child accidentally left behind an Apple iPad in a Peppa Pig case on the Delta flight. Within days, Brooke Brewer began receiving unusual activity alerts and used Apple’s Find My app to locate the device. It showed the iPad was still in New York City, and photos began appearing in her iCloud account—initially, selfies of a man wearing a Delta uniform and name badge.
Weeks later, the situation took a disturbing turn when pornographic videos of the same individual—still in Delta uniform—were automatically uploaded to the family’s iCloud account. The videos, which allegedly show the man masturbating while clearly wearing Delta-issued attire, deeply shocked the family.
The lawsuit further claims that the individual had hacked into the family’s iTunes and Amazon accounts, creating unauthorized user profiles, including one labeled “Gay,” which one of the children discovered. Despite filing multiple reports to Delta’s lost and found, the Brewers say the airline either failed to respond or sent a generic “no reply” message stating it was “searching for the iPad.”
Delta lost and found department issued a statement saying the accused was not a direct Delta employee, but rather worked for a third-party vendor company, which the airline has not publicly named. Delta also reiterated its “zero tolerance for unlawful behavior” but declined to comment further due to pending litigation.
“This was supposed to be a joyful family vacation,” said the family’s attorney, Tola Familoni of Motley Rice, in a public statement. “Instead, it became a nightmare involving child privacy violations, device hacking, and disturbing content uploaded without consent. We’re holding Delta accountable for failing to protect their passengers and properly respond to these serious concerns.”
Familoni emphasized that the family is pursuing the lawsuit not just for compensation but to prevent similar incidents from happening to other families traveling with children on U.S. airlines.
