Finding hope in an Donald Sangster International Airport

I had such a remarkable experience that I felt compelled to share in an attempt to counter all the horrendous stories of crime and violence that have become our daily diet. On Tuesday, December 27, I left my handbag in one of the ladies’ rooms at the Donald Sangster International Airport lost and found in Montego Bay. When I realised I was without my bag, I rushed to the bathroom facility to see if I could retrieve it. It was not there.

Sheer panic set in. I was directed to the ‘Lost and Found’ desk in the airport and I reported the matter to a very nice young gentleman who promised he would look out for it if it was handed in.

After rushing around the airport it was decided I should go to the police station and report the matter. As I was about to step into my car, a gentleman approached me and asked if I had lost something. Sangster Airport lost and found

Long story short, the bag had been found and given to airport security. They, in turn, took a photograph of my driver’s licence picture and sent it to all security officers in the airport. The gentleman who approached me recognised me from that picture. He gave me back my handbag with everything in tact, along with my sanity.

It was a wonderful moment and I was, yet again, glad to be living in Jamaica.

Via this medium I wish to congratulate the security staff at the airport. I congratulate them for implementing a very successful system that links persons to lost items in a most efficient manner. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
