British Airways staff loaded it into flight at Ibiza, believed it was put in overhead locker. Cushion handed over to Special assistance team in Ibiza at check in for Club Europe as they were looking after myself & my husband to the flight. We both need special assistance and this was pre-booked and re-confirmed by “ Proactive Customer service” as my wheelchair had been destroyed on our outbound journey.,
We were taken/ collected from aircraft foor on arrival at T5, at approximately 15:40 on 1 May 2024 by special assistance driver, on an aisle chsir and transferred to a special assistance ramp at top of the gangway back to the gate.
We through border control at approximately 16:15, then delivered to the special assistance “ exchange /holding pen” where we remained until at least 17:10.
My wheelchair had been crushed & driven over by a baggage collection trolley after being offloaded from hold but RETURNED TO THE AIRCRAFT, it was literally left on the ground under the hold by the Ibiza Ground handling crew, on the ground at Ibiza airport after it was offloaded, so on return journey, it was going directly to baggage re-claim to be collected by special assistance on our behalf.
Special assistance pusher collected 2 x bags from
carousel no 5, but 17:10, other flights had been on that carousel. My wrecked chair was returned to be me and we were rushed through to arrivals exit, and only on unloading to our driver, did I discover that my cushion wa missing.
This additional loss has been notified to the proactive customer assistance team Who are dealing with damage to my bespoke wheelchair & is added to their list of issues.
But I am registering here just in case by any chance it can be located & returned |
