Blackview 10in tab8 tablet
When boarding flight FR5683 on 27/10/2023 at 0510 am, I placed the bag containing the above tablet on the seat in front of my allocated seat to allow me to place my other cabin baggage in the overhead locker. My allocated seat for this flight was 9C, so the tablet was placed on seat 8C. Prior to take off I realised my tablet was not in the original bag. The passenger in front of me explained he had found the tablet on his seat and handed it to the flight attendant, assuming it hand been left from the previous flight. I asked the attendant if she had the item and she explained it had been handed over to the ground staff undertaking the final pre-flight checks. The attendant then explained that as the doors had been secured they could not retrieve the tablet and it would be handed in to �lost and found� and could be recovered on my return from holiday.
Acting on the assumption that it would be a simple matter to identify the lost item I was going to get a friend to collect it from the airport for me.
On making inquiries as to where the tablet may have been handed in, I was told to contact �Luggage Point� located in Edinburgh airport. This I did and they informed me that they did not have any item that matched the description of my lost tablet. I checked several times over the duration of my holiday all with the same result, they did not have any item that matched my description.
On my return to Edinburgh airport on the 18/10 I went to Luggage Point to see if there was any update on locating the item. After checking their database they said there was still no item matching the description of my tablet. They pointed out that it should have been handed in by a Swissport employee and they may still be in possession of it. I then went to the Swissport desk and ask if they could check if they still had the item as it was handed to one of their staff when we departed Edinburgh. The person at the Swissport desk was almost dismissive and said it was nothing to do with him check down at the Ryanair check in desk. At the Ryanair check in desk I asked one of the Swissport employees if she could help. She was helpful to the fact she went to check the Swissport office to see if there was any record of the Tablet being handed in. Unfortunately they had no record of it being handed in.
As no record can be found of the tablet being handed in to after the ground staff received it from the flight attendant I can only assume that the tablet has been stolen at some point.
