Location Details The bag was last seen in the possession of an Air Canada employee at the Air Canada ticketing desk at London's Heathrow airport (LHR). Please see below for a complete description.
Additional Information I was a passenger on the H4 bus from the Thistle Hotel (London Heathrow airport)8:15 AM Nov 16 2013. I removed the wrong bag from the bus when we arrived Terminal 3. My bag stayed on the bus until it stopped at T1. The Croatian Airlines passenger(determined from identification on his bag) whose bag I had errently removed, took possession of my bag when he departed the bus at T1. We worked with T3 Heathrow assistance personal (Purple jackets and Lost and Found)in the attempt to locate the Croatian passenger. We did confirm with Croatian Airlines that their passenger actually did have my bag but they would not become involved in attempting to connect us by phone. In a valiant attempt, the Croatian passenger made his way back to T3 with my bag and approached the Air Canada desk (my bag had my personal identification and an Air Canada sticker). Whilst he was at the Air Canada desk (T3) with my bag, I was at Lost and Found T3 with his bag. We never met up. Time ran out and we had to catch our flight. When we presented at the Air Canada desk they said that yes the man had been there and had left my bag with Air Canada desk staff (I personally spoke with the Air Canada gentleman that personally handled the passover). The Air Canada rep went on to say that he had looked up my name within the Air Canada computer and confirmed a) I was a ticket holder for AC 861 leaving LHR that morning, b)I had already obtained a boarding pass for the Sat Nov 16 AC 861 via Air Canada's web based check in and c) that I already had a checked bag that had been checked through to my final destination( Halifax YHZ) when we boarded BA the day previous from Rome to LHR. Despite that knowledge of the facts, The Air Canada rep stated that he (Air Canada) was not permitted to accept baggage at that desk and so he turned it over to "GPS". I am not entirely positive that the initials are actually "GPS" but in any event it is the company contracted by Heathrow to handle baggage and other ground based duties. We were told by the Air Canada rep that "GPS" had taken it back to the "GPS" office/holding facility/room (whatever) in Terminal one. That placed it out of reach in the limited time left for us to clear security and make the flight. We chose to depart on time and trust that the professionals at Heathrow can help us out in retrieving our missing bag. The bag is Black, of a size that very easily fits within the confines of that wire test rack often positioned near the check-in desk of every airline, has four wheels, contains (but not necessarily limited to) an Apple Mac Book Pro lap top computer, Nikon camera, clothing and cosmetics. The bag does have complete identification including my home address. In as much as this issue was caused by me, I am prepared to pay the costs of returning to bag to me here in Canada. Cheers Vicki Daley
